A grieving man who could not believe his siter is dead was living with her corpse for at least six months in Kolkata, India.
Police discovered a body of a dead woman and two pet dogs in Partha De’s apartment during investigation into his father’s death. His father, Arabinda, had retired as a director of a multi-national company and commited suicide by setting himself on fire in the bathroom last week.
But
when police officers came Partha bursted in tears and admitted that
there were more bodies to remove. When they entered his bedroom they saw
“a pile of about 50-60 bones on one side of the bed, with cakes, pastries and stuffed toys near them.” It is believed that the man was sleeping with Debjani and dog’s remains in his bed for half-year.
A spokesperson for police said: “He had sealed the windows and all other openings of the room to mask the stench in his room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were served to his sister, including occasional snacks; it seemed he took regular care of the skeleton. He changed the bed sheets every day – the room was cleaned too.”
The investigation in both deaths continues. Partha has since been taken to a mental hospital for medical examination and found to be suffering from “depressive psychosis”.
